Available Positions at Henosis SACCOS
Accountant and Cashier
Henosis SACCOS is seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant and Cashier to manage the financial transactions of the Society and ensure accurate record-keeping. Candidates should possess a degree in Accounting, Cooperative Accounting, or a related field of study. A minimum of five years of experience is required for BA holders, with at least four years of that experience directly related to cooperative/SACCO operations.
The Accountant and Cashier will be responsible for handling all cash transactions of the Society, receiving payments by cheque, deposit slips, etc., and checking daily cash accounts. Responsibilities include preparing and examining financial records, ensuring records are accurate and payments are processed properly and on time, overseeing the Society’s financial operations to promote efficient functioning, and providing financial information to management (via the operations or finance manager) by researching, analyzing accounting data, and preparing reports. The role also involves handling monetary transactions (cash, check, or deposit slip) from customers in exchange for goods or services, preparing financial reports, and maintaining proficiency with Peachtree accounting software. This is a contract position for one year with the possibility of renewal. The salary is negotiable.
Legal Service and Loan Recovery Officer
Henosis SACCOS is seeking a qualified Legal Service and Loan Recovery Officer to provide legal counsel and support to the Society. Candidates should possess a degree in Law, Corporate Law, or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience is required for BA holders, with at least three years of that experience specifically within SACCOS operations. Strong personal skills are essential for this role.
The Legal Service and Loan Recovery Officer will provide legal counsel and advise to Management on all litigation matters, assist the Deputy General Manager to draft, review, and advise on commercial contracts and lease documents for Henosis SACCOS Ltd to ensure the Society’s interest is safeguarded, and work in close liaison with external lawyers in all matters to ensure that the Society’s position is well represented/defended. The role also involves continuously reviewing and advising on existing laws and their impact on the Society. This is a contract position for one year with the possibility of renewal. The salary is negotiable.
