Currently, WAKO GUTU FOUNDATION is seeking dedicated professionals to fill two key positions: MEAL Officer and Social and Gender Development Officer. Both roles play a vital part in advancing WGF’s mission and vision, contributing to sustainable development and social inclusion across Ethiopian communities.

MEAL Officer

The MEAL Officer position at WAKO GUTU FOUNDATION offers an opportunity to design and oversee the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems for various programs aimed at enhancing pastoral and agro-pastoral communities. This role ensures that data collection, analysis, and reporting are carried out effectively to guide and improve WGF’s development initiatives.

Responsibilities

The MEAL Officer will develop comprehensive MEAL plans, design data collection tools, and oversee data analysis and reporting processes. This includes facilitating evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and conducting regular learning sessions for staff. The role also requires managing MEAL resources, coordinating evaluation activities, and contributing to the overall planning process. A high level of attention to detail, independence, and collaboration is essential to meet WGF’s goals effectively.

Qualifications

To excel as a MEAL Officer, candidates should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience (or 6 years with NGOs), with at least 5 years specifically in MEAL. Proficiency in English, Afan Oromo, and Amharic is required, along with strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and communication. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to WGF’s vision and values, coupled with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Social and Gender Development Officer

The Social and Gender Development Officer will lead efforts to promote gender equality and social inclusion across WAKO GUTU FOUNDATION’s programs. This role focuses on the development and implementation of social and gender programs, while facilitating community engagement and training to address gender-related challenges.

Responsibilities

This position requires conducting gender analysis, monitoring and evaluating gender-specific activities, and preparing detailed reports. The Social and Gender Development Officer will also collaborate with partners and advocate for gender equality, ensuring that the organization’s initiatives uphold the highest standards of social inclusion and equality.

Qualifications

Candidates applying for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher, with at least 6 years of experience (or 4 years with NGOs). Proficiency in English, Afan Oromo, and Amharic is essential, along with strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and facilitation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to promoting gender equality and social inclusion, alongside excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
