Position: Warehouse Officer
The Warehouse Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of warehouse activities at our Modjo location. This includes overseeing the receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods, ensuring accurate inventory control, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The successful candidate will be expected to implement and enforce warehouse procedures, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations. The role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, as well as the ability to effectively manage a team of warehouse staff.
A key aspect of this position involves maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular stock checks to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly. The Warehouse Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an effective inventory management system, utilizing computer software and other tools to track stock levels, monitor expiry dates, and prevent stockouts or overstocking. This requires a strong understanding of inventory control principles and the ability to analyze data to identify trends and make informed decisions. Furthermore, the role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all warehouse staff.
The Warehouse Officer will also be responsible for managing and developing a team of warehouse personnel, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively. Required Education/Experience and Key Skills
Candidates for the Warehouse Officer position must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain, Economics, or any other Business-related field. A solid academic foundation in these areas is essential for understanding the complexities of warehouse management and supply chain operations. Additionally, a minimum of two years’ experience in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) and related factory warehousing area is a must. This experience should provide practical knowledge of warehouse procedures, inventory control, and logistics management within a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures is also critical for success in this role. This includes familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, as well as a thorough understanding of relevant safety regulations and company policies. Furthermore, candidates must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows, Word, and Excel. These skills are essential for maintaining accurate inventory records, generating reports, and communicating effectively with other departments.
