Position Overview: Operations Manager

UNICEF Ethiopia is hiring an Operations Manager (P-4) to be based in Addis Ababa. This Fixed Term Appointment offers an incredible opportunity for professionals passionate about international development and humanitarian assistance.

Key Responsibilities

The Operations Manager will play a vital role in driving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of UNICEF’s programs in Ethiopia. The ideal candidate will provide leadership in areas of financial management, administration, and overall operational support, ensuring the successful implementation of UNICEF’s projects across the country.


Minimum Requirements

Education

Candidates must hold an advanced university degree in one of the following fields:

  • Social sciences
  • Business management
  • Administration
  • Finance
  • Any other relevant discipline

Work Experience

Applicants should have at least eight years of professional experience combining technical and managerial leadership in international development cooperation. A significant portion of this experience should have been acquired in a developing country. Experience with a UN agency or organization will be considered an asset.

Language Proficiency

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of an additional UN language—such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish—or a local Ethiopian language is considered a valuable asset.
