To effectively implement this program, SOS Sahel Ethiopia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Community Development Facilitator. This position is available in Tiyo, Digalu Tijo, and Sire Districts of Oromia, with one position in each district.

Role of Community Development Facilitator at SOS Sahel Ethiopia

Qualifications and Required Skills
To be eligible for the role of Community Development Facilitator, candidates must possess a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Agricultural Science, Soil Science, Crop Science, Agronomy, or related fields. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience for those with an M.Sc., or five years for candidates holding a B.Sc. Experience in NGO settings and agricultural research is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of soil health practices, including experience with vermicomposting, composting, and lime application, and should be familiar with integrating these practices into local agricultural systems.
Strong competencies in participatory approaches and facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement are essential for this position. Candidates must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high performance in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in both English and Afaan Oromoo is required, as effective communication with local communities, stakeholders, and partners is critical to the success of the project. Additionally, candidates must hold a motorbike riding license and have experience with motorbike operations, as fieldwork will involve frequent travel within the district.
