Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) invites qualified professionals to apply for the position of Senior Project Officer II – Youth Entrepreneurship Development. Purpose of the Position

The role of the Senior Project Officer II – Youth Entrepreneurship Development is integral to the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute’s mission of promoting sustainable and inclusive youth employment in agriculture. The selected candidate will lead efforts in designing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives aimed at creating dignified job opportunities for youth, especially women and marginalized groups. By fostering skills development and supporting youth-led agricultural enterprises, the Senior Project Officer II will contribute to the transformation of the agriculture sector, ensuring resilient and inclusive growth.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Senior Project Officer II include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing social and cultural barriers that impact youth employment in agriculture.
  • Designing and coordinating awareness campaigns and training sessions to foster positive youth mindset and behavior changes.
  • Leading the development of platforms for youth-focused skill-building and mentorship in agricultural value chains.
  • Collaborating with regional and federal stakeholders to align projects with national employment policies and strategies.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, ensuring continuous improvement and impact assessment.
  • Facilitating stakeholder engagement through workshops, conferences, and learning events to enhance advocacy and outreach efforts.
  • Developing and managing data collection systems to track project outcomes and generate insightful reports.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in sociology, development studies, social sciences, or a related field. A minimum of eight years of professional experience in youth-focused agricultural development, project management, and social behavioral change is required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in facilitating inclusive employment creation in agribusiness and a deep understanding of agricultural value chains. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities in English and Amharic, and proficiency in digital tools for data management are essential.
