Emergency Intern – Supporting Rapid Response Efforts

People in Need is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Emergency Intern to support its emergency response operations. In this role, you will assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of emergency programs, contributing to the organization’s efforts to provide timely and effective assistance to communities affected by disasters and crises. Job Requirements:

To be considered for the Emergency Intern position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, Disaster Risk Management, Public Health, Environmental Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Civil Engineering, Social Sciences, International Development, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or other related fields of study from a recognized higher education institution.
  • Be a graduate of the 2023 or 2024 E.C. academic year.
  • Possess zero years of work experience (this is an entry-level internship).
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exhibit good judgment regarding confidentiality and respect for sensitive materials.
  • Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Be a Female Candidate (This is a specific requirement for this position).
  • Possess excellent knowledge of spoken and written Amharic and English.
  • Provide three strong references (references will be crosschecked and contacted).

Salary: 6,500 ETB

Place of Work: Based in Addis Ababa, with frequent field travel to People in Need’s project sites in different regions as required.
