Project Officer: Forced Displacement and Economic Integration
The European Union Delegation to Ethiopia is seeking a highly skilled Project Officer to focus on forced displacement and economic integration. This role involves managing ongoing programs, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to policy dialogue with the Ethiopian government and key stakeholders.
The responsibilities of the Project Officer include analyzing trends in forced displacement, proposing strategies for economic integration, and ensuring that interventions are effectively implemented. The role also entails preparing and managing tenders, evaluating project performance, and maintaining financial oversight of EU-funded programs. These tasks will be conducted under the supervision of the Team Leader for Human Development and the Head of Cooperation.
Candidates should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Migration Studies, Economics, Law, or related fields, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to those with a Master’s degree and at least three years of professional experience in a similar capacity. Proficiency in English at a C2 level is mandatory, and knowledge of additional languages such as Amharic or French is considered an asset.
Salary, Benefits, and Working Conditions
The Project Officer position offers a competitive starting salary of €2,595 per month, payable in Ethiopian Birr. Employees are entitled to various benefits, including transportation allowances, provident funds, and medical insurance for themselves and their families, subject to specific conditions.
This role is a fixed-term position with a five-year contract following a two-month probation period. Working hours are set at 37.5 hours per week, ensuring a balanced professional environment.
