National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) Vacancy – Registration Deadline: December 26, 2024

About the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE)

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) stands as an independent institution established in accordance with Article 102 of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Since its inception, the Board has played a crucial role in organizing national and local elections across various regions. With a commitment to promoting democratic values, transparency, and impartiality, NEBE has successfully conducted five national elections, two local elections, and six referendums.

In response to reforms aimed at enhancing its operational effectiveness, the House of Peoples’ Representatives enacted Proclamation No. 1133/2019, which streamlined the management board, reducing its members to five full-time positions for a term of six years. This has allowed NEBE to focus on greater specialization and efficiency in managing electoral processes, ensuring credibility and fairness in its operations.

With regional offices established in both federal and regional administrative cities, NEBE continues to be a pivotal institution in Ethiopia’s democratic governance. By fostering inclusive electoral participation, NEBE aims to support the nation’s democratic growth and serve as a trusted pillar for electoral integrity.
