Team Leader – High Land Resilience Activity (HRA) Crisis Modifier
Mercy Corps is seeking a Team Leader for its High Land Resilience Activity (HRA) Crisis Modifier project in Hosaena, Central Ethiopia. This role involves managing complex recovery and emergency programs, overseeing cash and voucher systems, and ensuring the smooth execution of disaster management and food security interventions. You will work with marginalized communities to design and implement sustainable agricultural and economic solutions that build resilience and improve livelihoods.
Candidates must have at least a BSc degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Market Systems, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Rural Development, or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in NGOs or agribusiness, with a focus on recovery programming, rural livelihoods, and food security interventions, is required. The position demands strong project management, communication, and data analysis skills, as well as fluency in English. The Cash and Voucher Specialist position is also based in Hosaena and focuses on designing and implementing cash transfer and voucher systems to address the immediate and long-term needs of vulnerable populations. In this role, you will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including local authorities, community representatives, and financial service providers, to ensure effective delivery of humanitarian assistance. The role involves overseeing livelihood programming and ensuring compliance with humanitarian principles and standards.
Applicants must hold a BSc degree in Business Management, Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field. A minimum of four years of experience in humanitarian organizations, including at least two years with an international NGO in emergency or recovery programming, is essential. Proficiency in cash transfer modalities, excellent project management skills, and fluency in English are critical for this role. Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.

Driver
Mercy Corps is also looking for a Driver to support its operations in Jijiga. The Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of staff, goods, and equipment to various locations. This role requires familiarity with duty stations, routes, and the NGO community in the area. An ability to communicate in both Amharic and English is necessary, and knowledge of other local languages will be an asset.
Candidates must have a valid 3rd Grade or above driving license and a minimum of four years of experience, preferably with an international NGO. A background in vehicle repair or auto mechanics is advantageous. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of road safety and a commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts.
