Regional Seed System Coordinator
Mercy Corps is seeking a Regional Seed System Coordinator to play a critical role in enhancing Ethiopia’s seed security. This position involves identifying and supporting local seed systems, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, and facilitating capacity-building initiatives. The role also requires active engagement with stakeholders, including humanitarian and development partners, to foster collaborative action in addressing seed insecurity in vulnerable areas.
Applicants for this role should hold a Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Production, Seed Science, Agricultural Economics, or a related field, complemented by at least 8 years of relevant experience. Candidates must have a strong understanding of Ethiopian farming and seed systems, particularly in fragile contexts affected by shocks or stress. Experience with participatory variety selection and capacity-building workshops is highly valued, as is a commitment to the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus framework.
