Project Assistant: Role and Responsibilities
The Project Assistant will provide essential support to the KBC team in the planning, execution, and monitoring of various projects and initiatives aimed at promoting trade and investment between Korea and Ethiopia, Djibouti, and the Seychelles. This will involve a wide range of tasks, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to all stages of project development, from initial research and planning to implementation and evaluation. This is a diverse role with opportunities to contribute to many different areas of operation.
Key responsibilities will include conducting market research to identify potential trade and investment opportunities, preparing reports and presentations on market trends and business opportunities, and assisting with the organization of trade fairs, business delegations, and other promotional events. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for managing databases of contacts, updating website content, and providing administrative support to the KBC team. This role requires proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.

Qualifications and Application Details
To be considered for the Project Assistant position, candidates must meet the following requirements: Candidates must be either an Ethiopian citizen or possess a valid working/residence permit for Ethiopia. A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university is essential. Strong fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a mandatory requirement. Submitting proof of English proficiency from a certified organization, such as IELTS, Duolingo, TOEIC, or TOEFL, is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using computer programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential for this role. While not mandatory, fluency in French or Korean would be considered a significant advantage. Previous working experience in areas such as marketing, market intelligence and research, import and export, or business support in the public sector, project management, and other international organizations or embassies is preferred.
