CMR and Logistics Officer – Addis Ababa

The British Council in Addis Ababa is seeking a meticulous and highly organized CMR (Customer Management Relationship) and Logistics Officer to support our operational activities. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of our services while upholding the highest standards of customer service, compliance, and security. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining accurate records, managing logistics, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

TREE Technical Lead – Addis Ababa

The British Council is also searching for a highly skilled and experienced TREE (Transforming Rural Education in Ethiopia) Technical Lead to provide strategic direction and technical expertise to a significant education initiative. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful design, implementation, and monitoring of a transformative education program that aims to improve the quality of education in rural Ethiopia. The Technical Lead will work closely with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, donors, academics, and local organizations, to achieve the project’s ambitious goals.

Applicants for this role must possess a first degree and a postgraduate qualification in ELT (English Language Teaching), education, or international development (or an equivalent subject area). A successful track record in designing and leading large-scale transformative education and/or English language teaching projects in challenging geographies is essential. Candidates must also demonstrate strong project management experience in one or more specialist areas relevant to the project, such as ELT, school leadership, testing and assessment, or gender-responsive pedagogy. Experience of leading diverse multi-disciplinary teams, including teams spread across multiple locations, is also a must.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in overseeing monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) within projects and incorporating lessons learned from MERL into programme strategy and delivery. They will also possess proven experience in managing senior-level relationships with diverse stakeholders, including multilateral agencies, donors, government officials, academics, and external consultants. Recent experience of working and living in Ethiopia is highly valued, as is a deep understanding of the Ethiopian education system and cultural context. Project management qualification is desirable and Doctorate level qualification in ELT, education, or international development (or an equivalent subject area).
