Responsibilities of the Insurance Broker
The Insurance Broker will act as the primary liaison between JSI and various insurance providers. This role requires the broker to conduct in-depth market analysis, recommend suitable insurance products, and ensure that all services meet regulatory standards. The broker will also assist employees in understanding and accessing their insurance benefits, guiding them through the claims process and addressing any concerns.
Key duties include negotiating competitive terms with insurance carriers, facilitating claims processes, and maintaining open communication between employees and insurance providers. The broker will also monitor industry trends to provide timely recommendations and updates. Furthermore, the role involves educating staff on their insurance options and ensuring compliance with Ethiopia’s legal and regulatory framework.
A significant aspect of the role is offering ongoing support to employees. This includes resolving policy-related queries, facilitating changes in coverage, and ensuring that claims are processed efficiently. The broker will work closely with JSI’s HR department to provide regular updates on policy performance, employee feedback, and service challenges.
Qualifications and Expertise
To excel in this role, the candidate must possess a valid broker license issued by the National Bank of Ethiopia. This ensures compliance with local regulations governing insurance activities. Applicants should also have substantial experience in the insurance sector, demonstrating expertise in evaluating various insurance products and services.
