Data Collector: A Crucial Role in Driving Change
JaRco Consulting is currently seeking 30 motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join its team as Data Collectors. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful development and humanitarian programs across Ethiopia. Whether you are a fresh graduate eager to gain hands-on experience or an experienced professional in data collection, this role is designed to make the most of your skills and potential.
As a Data Collector, your primary responsibility will be to gather accurate and reliable data through various methods, including surveys, interviews, and observations. You will work in diverse field environments, engaging directly with participants and communities to ensure high-quality data collection. This role demands a strong sense of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to detail and accuracy.
Applicants should have a university degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Health, Agriculture, or Statistics. While fresh graduates are welcome, candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for male applicants and 2.7 for female applicants. Proficiency in local languages such as Amharic, Oromifa, or Tigrigna is essential for effective communication with participants. Previous experience in data collection, particularly in household surveys, is a valuable asset but not mandatory.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Data Collectors at JaRco play a pivotal role in the success of its projects. You will be responsible for collecting high-quality data using digital tools such as KOBO and ODK, ensuring that all information aligns with predefined study protocols. The role requires the ability to travel to remote areas and deliver results within tight deadlines while maintaining ethical standards and participant confidentiality.
The job demands identifying and selecting eligible participants, recording responses accurately, and ensuring clarity and completeness in the data collected. Collaboration with team members and supervisors is crucial to ensure the smooth execution of data collection activities. This role offers the opportunity to work in various regions of Ethiopia, including Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, Sidama, and the Central, South, and Southwestern regions.
