Coffee Machine Operator – Gelan, Sheger City

This is a great opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring the premium quality of Horra Trading’s coffee exports. As a Coffee Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our advanced coffee processing machinery. Your expertise will directly influence the quality of the coffee beans that reach our customers worldwide. You will be instrumental in transforming raw coffee into the exceptional product that Horra Trading is known for. This role requires a meticulous approach, a strong understanding of mechanical systems, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.

The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of coffee processing techniques and be adept at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues that may arise during operation. You will be responsible for adhering to strict operating procedures and safety protocols, ensuring the efficient and consistent processing of coffee beans. Ideally, candidates will have hands-on experience operating Cimbria Huller coffee processing machinery, demonstrating a familiarity with the specific equipment used at Horra Trading. Lab Analyst – Gelan, Sheger City

Horra Trading is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Lab Analyst to ensure the consistent quality of our coffee beans. In this pivotal role, you will perform a range of crucial analyses on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards and guaranteeing that only the finest coffee reaches our customers. As a Lab Analyst, you will be at the heart of our quality control process, using your skills to ensure that every batch of coffee meets our stringent requirements.

Your responsibilities will encompass conducting both routine and non-routine analyses, meticulously documenting your findings, and providing valuable insights into the quality of our coffee. You will interpret test results, compare them against established specifications and control limits, and make informed recommendations on the suitability of the data for product release. You’ll perform visual inspections of finished products, ensuring that they meet our high standards for appearance and consistency. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our testing processes.

In addition to technical skills, effective communication and collaboration are essential for this role. You will be required to participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations, working with other team members to identify root causes and recommend appropriate corrective actions. You will also contribute to the creation of quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions. To be considered for this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Plant Science, Agricultural Science, or a related discipline. At least four years of demonstrable work experience as a Cupper (Lab Analyst) within a coffee exporting company is required. Q Grade certification is a significant advantage. Excellent interpersonal and customer handling skills are a must, along with fluency in both Amharic and English (written and verbal).
