Position 1: Electrician – Hawassa, Shashemene, and Yirgalem
A key position to maintain and improve the Hawassa Industrial Park is the Electrician. The Electrician is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment within the Park and surrounding areas. The Electrician will be expected to be based in Hawassa, Shashemene, and Yirgalem depending on the needs of the companies requiring their expertise. This role requires a skilled and experienced individual with a strong understanding of electrical principles and safety practices.
The core duties of the Electrician will be focused on installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring and equipment. The responsibilities include but aren’t limited to troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems efficiently. You will be expected to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints accurately to perform your tasks. A strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work independently are crucial for success in this role. The expectation is to uphold safe electrical practices and adhere to the highest standards.
Position 2: Technician – Hawassa, Shashemene, and Yirgalem
HIPIA seeks a qualified Technician to maintain and improve operations within the Hawassa Industrial Park and surrounding areas of Shashemene and Yirgalem. Depending on the needs of HIPIA companies, the Technician will be expected to utilize their wide breadth of knowledge in the Mechanical, Electronics, and IT realms to ensure minimal down time within the Park. The ideal candidate is someone with great skills in all three fields with excellent ability to troubleshoot with safe and efficient practices.
The responsibilities will be numerous because of the needs of the member companies. The Technician will be expected to maintain and repair both machinery and electronic equipment. With the proper knowledge, the Technician will troubleshoot and diagnose electronic faults when they arise and communicate those to their supervisor in a timely manner. The Technician will also be available to help install computer systems and networks.
Position 3: Production Supervisor – Hawassa, Shashemene, and Yirgalem
The Production Supervisor role is pivotal in ensuring efficient and effective production operations across HIPIA’s member companies, in the areas of Hawassa, Shashemene, and Yirgalem. You will oversee and manage production operations, ensuring that production targets are met on time and within budget. A good Production Supervisor helps to monitor and improve production efficiency and quality.
The Production Supervisor’s primary focus will be ensuring that the plant runs smoothly and efficiently. The role includes not just monitoring operations but also taking a hands on approach with personnel to keep morale high and quality output at its peak. Production planning is a must, so a good knowledge of this process is necessary to perform at the highest level in this role. The Production Supervisor must be capable of dealing with a large number of personnel and have excellent communication abilities.
Qualifications (Applicable to All Positions)
To be considered for any of these positions, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, or Computer Engineering. In addition, all candidates must demonstrate proficiency in English communication and possess strong computer skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, as is a strong work ethic and a firm commitment to safety. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also required for all positions. Additional qualifications that are required for the Production Supervisor role: The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, along with knowledge of production planning and control techniques.
