Responsibilities and Duties

As a Digital Governance and Innovation Intern at GIZ, you will be responsible for various tasks that directly support the organization’s mission to improve governance through technology. One of your primary responsibilities will be conducting in-depth research on the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in digital governance, specifically tailored to the African context. You will analyze reports, policies, and data, particularly those related to the African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy, offering valuable insights that will inform strategic decisions.

Additionally, you will play an essential role in supporting key ongoing projects such as the AU Civic Tech Fund, AU Digital and Innovation Fellowship, and the AU Innovation Lab. You will assist in coordinating with various AUC Directorates and stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation. This includes helping with event planning, stakeholder meetings, and capacity-building initiatives. The internship provides exposure to real-world digital governance challenges and the opportunity to help design innovative solutions to address public sector challenges.

Communication and documentation are also crucial aspects of this role. As an intern, you will document case studies and success stories, helping to communicate the progress and impact of GIZ’s initiatives. Required Qualifications and Experience
