Office Assistant

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society is looking for a dedicated and skilled Office Assistant to join its PNS Service Delivery Unit. The role involves providing clerical and administrative support to ensure smooth office operations. This is a one-year contract position based in Addis Ababa, with the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the organization’s day-to-day functions.

The Office Assistant will be responsible for managing various clerical tasks, including typing, scanning, and photocopying documents. Additionally, the role involves purchasing airline tickets in cases where the Protocol Officer is unavailable. The successful candidate will monitor office supplies, ensure the proper functioning of office equipment, and coordinate with relevant departments for repairs and maintenance. They will also assist in running interoffice errands, delivering memos, and facilitating communication between departments.

The role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as the Office Assistant will also provide guidance to PNS delegates and support their engagement with ERCS departments. A strong command of English, computer literacy, and an ability to multitask are essential to succeed in this role.


Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate must hold a diploma or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution, such as a TVET Level I certification or completion of grade 12. Depending on the level of education, two to four years of relevant work experience is required. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is a key requirement, along with basic computer skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
