Registrar – Based in Samara City
The Registrar is a critical role within EHRC, responsible for managing human rights complaints and ensuring a smooth case management process. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to interact effectively with complainants, ensuring their concerns are addressed appropriately.
The Registrar will oversee the admissibility of cases, maintain an advanced case management system, and work closely with case managers to issue summons and decisions. This role also involves compiling and disseminating complaint data, offering referrals and assistance to those lodging complaints, and contributing to the development of EHRC’s policies and tools for handling cases.
To excel in this role, candidates must have a LLM or LLB in Human Rights Law or International Law, with at least six years of relevant experience for LLB holders or four years for LLM holders. Proficiency in both Amharic and English is essential, and knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage.
The position offers a gross monthly salary ranging from ETB 23,126.00 to ETB 26,219.00, along with housing and transport allowances. The contract is open-ended, providing long-term opportunities for growth and contribution to human rights in Ethiopia.
Project Development & Resource Mobilization Officer – Based in Addis Ababa
This role focuses on identifying needs, securing resources, and supporting project development for EHRC. The officer will work closely with thematic departments to develop concept notes and proposals, as well as build partnerships with donors and stakeholders.
The position involves creating donor and stakeholder databases, conducting stakeholder analysis, and supporting the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) teams in integrating lessons learned into new projects. The officer will also assist in organizing project development meetings and contributing to donor reporting.
Candidates should possess a MA, LLB, or BA in social sciences with four years of experience for LLB/BA holders or two years for MA holders. A strong understanding of resource mobilization, project management, and excellent computer skills are essential.
The position offers a gross monthly salary ranging from ETB 20,400.00 to ETB 23,683.00, along with housing and transport allowances. This role is offered on a one-year contract basis, with a possibility of extension based on performance.
