Human Rights Officer, Human Rights Education
As a Human Rights Officer in Human Rights Education, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing educational programs aimed at fostering awareness and understanding of human rights principles. This position involves creating and reviewing educational materials, conducting training sessions, and organizing events to promote human rights education. Collaboration with NGOs, schools, and community groups is a key component of this role, ensuring that EHRC’s educational initiatives reach diverse audiences.
Candidates must hold an LLB or LLM in Human Rights Law, International Law, or a related field, with experience in curriculum development and instructional design. Proficiency in research, writing, and communication is essential, as is fluency in Amharic. This position is based in Addis Ababa and offers a gross monthly salary of ETB 20,400–23,683, along with housing and transport allowances.
Human Rights Officer, Monitoring and Investigation
The Human Rights Officer in Monitoring and Investigation will focus on investigating human rights complaints, monitoring detention facilities, and conducting research on systemic issues. This role involves drafting reports, issuing recommendations, and collaborating with stakeholders to advocate for human rights improvements. The officer will also provide input on policies and tools to enhance EHRC’s investigative framework.
Applicants should have an LLB or LLM in Law, Human Rights Law, or International Law, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience for LLB holders and two years for LLM holders. Strong analytical and communication skills are required, as well as fluency in Amharic. This position is based in Samara City and offers a similar salary package to the education officer role.
Financial Auditor
The Financial Auditor position involves ensuring financial accountability and transparency within EHRC. Responsibilities include designing audit processes, analyzing financial data, and documenting findings to improve internal financial systems. The auditor will also support external audits and propose loss-mitigation strategies, contributing to the commission’s overall financial integrity.
Candidates should hold a BA in Accounting and Finance or a related field, with six years of experience for BA holders or four years for MSc/MBA holders. Familiarity with IFMIS and strong analytical skills are essential. The position is located at the EHRC Head Office in Addis Ababa, offering a gross monthly salary of ETB 20,400–23,683, along with housing and transport allowances.
Project, Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator
The Project, Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator will oversee the successful implementation of EHRC’s projects. This role involves managing project deliverables, developing implementation plans, and ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation systems are in place. The coordinator will also be responsible for preparing project reports and documenting best practices to inform future initiatives.
Applicants should have an LLB, LLM, or MA in Law, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field, with at least six years of relevant experience and two years in project management. Knowledge of donor regulations, project management skills, and fluency in Amharic and English are required. This position is based at the Head Office in Addis Ababa, with a gross monthly salary of ETB 25,756–30,676, plus housing and transport allowances.
