Graduate Intern – Finance Officer
The Graduate Intern – Finance Officer will support the finance department in managing budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring accurate financial documentation. The role requires close collaboration with the finance team to ensure that organizational financial policies are followed and that all transactions are conducted with integrity and accuracy.
As part of this internship, the intern will assist in preparing financial reports, invoices, and receipts while maintaining accurate records of all transactions. The intern will also support the reconciliation of bank statements, preparation of monthly financial reports, and resolution of financial discrepancies. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, the intern will gain invaluable insights into the financial management processes of a leading NGO.
In addition to handling finance-related tasks, the intern will contribute to research initiatives to identify financial best practices and recommend improvements to existing processes. Administrative support duties will also be part of the role, ensuring the intern gains comprehensive exposure to the financial operations of an NGO.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Candidates interested in this role should have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial management is crucial for this position. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP will be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical and analytical skills, along with exceptional attention to detail. Effective time-management and organizational skills are essential to handle the demands of the internship. Previous experience in finance, whether through an internship or volunteer work, is beneficial but not mandatory.
