Key Responsibilities

The Clerk for Political Affairs will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing Ethiopia’s domestic and foreign policies, providing insights that support the Embassy’s diplomatic activities. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of briefing materials, presentations, and other documents required by the Political Division.

Collaboration with Japanese officers and other team members will be a central part of your role. Your ability to analyze complex political issues, communicate effectively, and maintain a high level of professionalism will be critical to your success in this position.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in political analysis, international relations, or a related field. A strong academic background in political science, particularly with a focus on Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa region, is essential. Native-level proficiency in both English and Amharic is required, along with experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
