Human Resources Intern – Opportunity at DRC Ethiopia
The overall purpose of this internship at the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is to provide a learning opportunity to newly graduated candidates by giving them actual work experience and the ability to provide support to the organization. This program strives to give you valuable skills and experiences.
Responsibilities within this role include assisting the HR team in ensuring all personnel files are complete and accurate, while assuring adherence to the highest level of confidentiality. You will assist the HR Team in contacting and arranging written exams and interviews for different positions. The HR Team will need assistance in handling any insurance related issues of staff in a very organized and professional manner, so that will be a task that you will be required to do. You will also assist the other HR Team in organizing orientations. Also, you will assist the HR Officer in making sure all staff in DRC Addis and FOs are registered in the government pension scheme and keeping the record in the personal file. As part of the learning process, you will participate in any HR related activities and responsibilities as directed. You will be issuing staff IDs, and doing any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications and Requirements
Regarding experience and technical competencies, the position requires 0-1 year of experience, as well as high integrity, a pro-active, stable, robust character and good team-player skills. Excellent communication skills, and a proven commitment to accountability practices are also required. The position also requires knowledge of computers including word processing, and database management packages.
Regarding education, the position requires a Diploma or BA in Management, HR Management or other relevant business fields. Candidates must have graduated from a university within the last two years.
What DRC Offers
The contract offered will be 12 months. Benefits and other conditions are offered in accordance with DRC’s Terms for Apprenticeship. Availability is expected in April 2025. The duty station will be in Addis Ababa, and the Reporting Line is to the Country Human Resources Manager.
