Junior Advisor/Junior Technical Professional
The Junior Advisor will play a critical role in the execution of the Better Migration Management III (BMM III) program, supporting various aspects of policy formulation, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement. The primary focus of the BMM III initiative is to strengthen institutions involved in migration governance, facilitate cooperation among international actors, and provide direct assistance to individuals affected by trafficking and smuggling.
The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting the program’s team leader and senior experts in technical and administrative tasks. This includes supporting project planning, implementation, and knowledge management efforts. A key part of the role is assisting in the formulation of Ethiopia’s Annual Work Plan (AWP) for the BMM program and acting as the GIZ Ethiopia focal point for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities. The Junior Advisor will also play a central role in organizing Monthly Coordination Meetings (MCM), ensuring proper documentation of discussions and decisions taken during these sessions.
Applicants must have a university degree in a relevant field aligned with the project’s objectives. Some initial professional experience, such as an internship or similar engagement in a related sector, is required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in IT and communication technologies, including software applications such as MS Office and database management systems. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in an international development context are essential. Prior experience in project management or research related to migration, human rights, or governance will be considered an added advantage.
This position offers a contract duration until September 30, 2025, and is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Only one candidate will be selected for this role.
