Position: Programme Manager Country Office
The Programme Manager role at CBM Ethiopia is integral to managing the country’s inclusive development initiatives and overseeing large-scale programmes with diverse stakeholders. This senior position requires a strong understanding of project management, partnership development, and results-based management to ensure the success of CBM’s mission.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of programmes aligned with the organization’s objectives. With a deep commitment to empowering persons with disabilities, this role will engage closely with national governments, partners, and communities to drive impactful results while maintaining the highest levels of accountability and transparency.
Responsibilities
The Programme Manager will oversee all aspects of programme development, including managing internal and external relationships, supporting the execution of CBM’s Country Plan, and ensuring alignment with donor requirements and national development priorities. This involves close collaboration with the Country Director, Fundraising Manager, and technical teams to guarantee high-quality, sustainable programme delivery.
Key responsibilities include developing sectoral initiatives, managing programme budgets, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. The Programme Manager will also lead in building strong partnerships, conducting capacity assessments, and supporting funding diversification efforts.
Furthermore, the role entails providing strategic guidance for emergency response projects and ensuring effective project monitoring and evaluation. With a focus on quality assurance and knowledge sharing, the Programme Manager will drive continuous improvement in programme quality and impact.
Requirements
Applicants should hold a University Degree in social sciences, international development, or a related field, with at least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in senior-level roles within national or international NGOs. Experience managing large-scale inclusive development and humanitarian programmes is essential, as is a proven track record in engaging with national/local governments and institutional donors.
The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical and communication skills, along with the ability to manage diverse teams and foster partnerships that contribute to CBM’s mission. Proficiency in programme cycle management, including budgeting and financial management, is necessary, as is a commitment to promoting disability inclusion in all initiatives.
