Position 1: NRM/PW & Environment Facilitator

The NRM/PW & Environment Facilitator will play a pivotal role in implementing TRAIN-DFSA Natural Resource Management (NRM), environment, and disaster risk reduction (DRR) activities. Based in Simada, this position demands close collaboration with kebele-level government experts to ensure the effective execution of watershed projects. The facilitator will oversee the quality and standard of NRM structures and ensure that all public work activities are executed to the required specifications.

The responsibilities encompass planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on activities within the assigned scope. The facilitator will also align closely with FH’s core values, demonstrating a positive attitude and maintaining confidentiality in organizational matters. This role requires physical fitness to work in diverse environments, strong communication skills, and the ability to contribute to a harmonious team atmosphere.

Ideal candidates should possess a BSc in fields such as Irrigation Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or Agricultural Engineering. At least one year of experience in a similar role, preferably within an international NGO, is essential. Fluency in Amharic and/or local languages and a basic understanding of English are required. This position offers a one-year renewable contract with a probation period of 60 working days.


Position 2: Finance Officer

The Finance Officer, based in Mekelle, Tigray, will be responsible for managing financial operations and supporting the organization’s goals through meticulous oversight of regional office payments and documents. Key tasks include preparing payment journals, reconciling stock and cash balances, compiling reports for USAID, supporting audits, and ensuring year-end accruals are properly managed.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong organizational and relationship management skills, working effectively in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in tools like MS Dynamics, Power BI, and Excel is mandatory. The officer will also monitor financial compliance and assist the finance coordinator in cash management. The position requires a commitment to serving vulnerable populations in alignment with FH’s Christian values.

Candidates should have a BA degree in accounting, finance, or project management and at least three years of relevant experience in grants management, preferably in an NGO setting. Proficiency in English and knowledge of local languages is necessary. This role offers a one-year renewable contract, starting with a 60-day probation period.


Position 3: Driver

FH Ethiopia is also seeking a Driver to join its operations in Abergelle Yechilla, Tigray. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth transportation of personnel, documents, and supplies. The driver will be responsible for maintaining vehicles in optimal condition, keeping accurate mileage records, processing bank transactions, and supporting the organization in its administrative functions.

The ideal candidate must have completed high school education and possess at least two years of relevant experience. A valid 3rd-grade driver’s license is required, and proficiency in Tigrigna is advantageous. Candidates must be residents of the Tigray region. Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
