MEAL Officer Role

As a MEAL Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring and evaluation system of the JEOP project in Afar. This includes data collection, compilation, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of field-level data. The role requires maintaining detailed project records, analyzing data to measure the program’s impact, and documenting lessons learned to improve future initiatives.

The ideal candidate will work closely with local communities, government representatives, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and achieve program objectives. Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Statistics, or a related field. Practical knowledge of statistical software and a strong foundation in data analysis are essential. Applicants should also have a minimum of three years of relevant experience for bachelor’s degree holders or two years with a postgraduate degree. Prior experience in the NGO sector and familiarity with monitoring and evaluation processes are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and effective communication abilities in both English and local languages. Knowledge of statistical tools like SPSS and a commitment to teamwork, gender equality, and participatory approaches are also critical for success in this role.
