Office Manager – National Crime Agency
The National Crime Agency (NCA) serves as the UK’s leading organization in combating serious and organized crime. Its operations extend globally, with International Liaison Officers (ILOs) stationed in countries like Ethiopia to facilitate law enforcement collaboration. The NCA team in Addis Ababa focuses on Organized Immigration Crime (OIC), working closely with Ethiopian counterparts to address criminal activities with a UK nexus. The Office Manager role is pivotal in supporting the NCA’s mission in Ethiopia by handling administrative, logistical, and project management tasks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the NCA’s objectives by facilitating project activities, organizing events, and maintaining crucial relationships with Ethiopian and UK law enforcement agencies. This includes overseeing training delivery arrangements, assisting with the vetting process, managing equipment orders, and ensuring compliance with NCA policies. Additionally, the Office Manager will conduct open-source research, analyze data, and provide detailed financial reporting in line with UK standards.
Applicants should demonstrate strong organizational skills, fluency in both English and Amharic, and the ability to manage complex relationships with discretion and integrity. Previous experience in a law enforcement environment or project management is desirable but not mandatory. Salary, Benefits, and Working Conditions
The Office Manager position is a permanent, full-time role based at the British Embassy in Addis Ababa. The starting salary is USD 635.75 per month, subject to local taxation laws. The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Flexibility is required to meet operational demands as they arise.
Employees recruited locally are subject to Ethiopian labor laws and must have the legal right to work in Ethiopia. The Embassy does not cover relocation expenses or visa/work permit fees; successful candidates must make their own arrangements.
