Position 1: IT Officer – North Regional Office, Mekelle Town

The IT Officer position within the North Regional Office, based in Mekelle Town, is crucial for maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of Awash Bank’s IT infrastructure. The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring that the regional branch office’s computer systems, networks, and applications are functioning optimally, providing technical support to users, and safeguarding the bank’s sensitive data. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional IT support.

The IT Officer’s responsibilities include installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems, and applications; monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks; troubleshooting system and network problems; diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults; and replacing parts as required. This role involves providing comprehensive support, including assisting with the rollout of new applications and training users on how to effectively utilize them. A key function is to implement and enforce security measures to protect the bank’s IT infrastructure from cyber threats. This crucial role in Addis Ababa is responsible for the day-to-day activities related to information security governance, compliance, and risk management. The Senior Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Awash Bank’s information assets. This involves developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards; conducting risk assessments; monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements; and providing security awareness training to employees.

The Senior Officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining security policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. This includes developing and implementing a comprehensive cybersecurity awareness program, delivering awareness training to bank employees, and increasing the overall understanding of cyber threats within the organization. The role involves conducting risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to the bank’s information assets, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to address those risks. They will need to monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that the bank is meeting its obligations. This position also involves participating in the industry standard certification processes, ensuring they are conducted as planned and contribute to the overall improvement of the security posture.

Awash Bank is seeking experienced and highly motivated individuals to lead its Class IV Branches in Bita Town (Kaffa Zone) and Shako Town (Bench-Shako Zone). As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling all banking activities within the branch office. The Branch Manager ensures operating procedures, rules, regulations, and the bank’s code of practices are adhered to by all subordinates. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving branch sales, customer service initiatives, and overall operational excellence.

The Branch Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all banking operations are conducted in compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This includes actively leading the branch’s sales and customer service efforts, identifying opportunities to grow the branch’s customer base and revenue. The role requires providing guidance and support to branch staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Branch Manager also prepares and submits the annual budget, operational plan, and activity/progress reports to higher management. They will need to ensure that the branch provides exceptional customer service, resolving customer issues promptly and effectively.
