Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant and General Service Position

The Junior Accountant and General Service position is a multifaceted role that encompasses both accounting and general administrative responsibilities. The primary focus will be on maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, ensuring tax compliance, and providing general support to the finance and administration teams. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, adhere to deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks.

Key responsibilities include meticulously recording daily cost transactions, preparing payroll, invoices, and handling tasks related to withholding, VAT, and other financial matters. Maintaining accurate and organized financial documentation and records is also crucial. You will prepare check payment vouchers, verify petty cash payments and supporting documents before processing or replenishment, and prepare payment requests for check transactions.

Furthermore, you will reconcile monthly bank statements for all accounts, prepare Monthly Income Tax Schedules, and generate monthly schedules for Credit Association, Pension Contributions, and other deductions following payroll. Ensuring compliance with tax regulations is paramount; therefore, you will prepare and submit Withholding Tax Payable Schedules and complete required Tax Authority forms monthly to avoid penalties. You will also prepare VAT Schedules and submit Tax Authority forms each month before penalty deadlines to ensure compliance. In addition to these accounting duties, you will ensure financial data confidentiality, perform database backups as needed, adhere to financial policies and regulations, and prepare and submit Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annual, and Annual Reports to the Finance Manager through the Head of General Accounts in a timely and efficient manner.
