Architect Intern
Amref Health Africa is seeking a motivated and talented Architect Intern to join its team in Addis Ababa. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while gaining hands-on experience in architectural design and project management.
Candidates must hold a First Degree in Architecture and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SketchUp, Revit, and AutoCAD is essential, as is a willingness to travel to project areas. Ideal candidates will be self-starters with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The role requires a keen eye for detail, integrity, professionalism, and a proactive attitude.
The Architect Intern will play a critical role in supporting the design and implementation of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facilities in schools and communities. Key responsibilities include conducting field verifications, assisting in architectural drafting and 3D modeling, and maintaining communication with the project team. The intern will oversee construction quality, review progress schedules, and ensure compliance with technical specifications and contractual agreements. Other duties include conducting feasibility studies, preparing detailed implementation plans, and collaborating with stakeholders to facilitate successful project execution.
