Driver/Deputy Logistic Officer

This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including transporting Embassy staff and official guests, maintaining vehicle safety compliance, and supporting logistics operations. The selected candidate will be required to plan routes for local and regional travel, ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, and assist with tasks such as correspondence delivery, procurement, and formalities related to imports and exports.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of relevant driving and logistics experience, preferably with an international organization or government institution. A deep knowledge of Addis Ababa’s transport network is essential, along with a good command of English and basic computer skills. The role also demands excellent communication skills, integrity, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

This position reports directly to the HR and Admin Officer at the Embassy. Starting on April 1, 2025, the role includes a probation period of three months, providing an opportunity to demonstrate capabilities in a dynamic and professional environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must have:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in driving, logistics, or related fields.
  • Technical training in logistics and vehicle management.
  • Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with the Addis Ababa transport network.
  • Basic computer knowledge for tasks such as email communication and correspondence tracking.
