The Advocacy Center for Democracy & Development (ACDD) invites passionate and qualified individuals to join its team in Addis Ababa. Established in 2020, ACDD is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing civic participation, fostering governance reforms, and promoting democratic development in Ethiopia. Officially registered under the FDRE Authority for Civil Society Organizations, ACDD has quickly become a prominent voice for advocacy and governance in the country.

Currently, ACDD has three open positions available: Finance & Admin Intern, Junior Social Worker, and Communication and Advocacy Intern. These roles provide excellent opportunities for fresh graduates and young professionals looking to grow their careers while making meaningful contributions to society.
Finance & Admin Intern
The Finance & Admin Intern will support ACDD’s financial operations under the supervision of the immediate supervisor. Responsibilities include assisting in financial report preparation, learning Peachtree accounting software, and participating in accounts payable and receivable processes. The intern will also be involved in administrative tasks such as data entry and filing.
To qualify, applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and have a strong understanding of Ethiopian financial regulations. Although no prior work experience is required, familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office is essential. Fluency in English is highly desirable, and the ability to work in a team environment is critical.
This is a six-month contract position based in Addis Ababa. The salary is negotiable based on qualifications and skills.
Junior Social Worker
The Junior Social Worker will provide support to individuals, families, and communities by addressing their social, emotional, and economic challenges. Reporting to the immediate supervisor, this role involves implementing support programs, engaging in assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective program delivery.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field, with 1–2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Afan Oromo is highly preferred.
This one-year position, based in Addis Ababa, comes with the possibility of extension. The salary is negotiable.
Communication and Advocacy Intern
The Communication and Advocacy Intern will assist ACDD in executing its digital communication strategy. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining the organization’s website and social media platforms, creating engaging content, and increasing online visibility.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, provided they have familiarity with social media platforms and basic graphic design tools. Strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn are key requirements for this role.
This six-month contract position is based in Addis Ababa, with a negotiable salary.
