About the Role of Program Interns

The role of Program Interns at TIMRAN involves supporting a range of projects designed to advance women’s participation in politics and peacebuilding efforts. Interns will assist in implementing initiatives aimed at fostering women’s leadership in decision-making processes, ensuring their voices are heard in critical national discussions.

Interns will be actively involved in organizing and facilitating workshops, training sessions, and events that equip women with the tools and knowledge to take up leadership roles. They will also assist in compiling reports, preparing presentations, and documenting activities for internal use and external stakeholders. Researching topics related to women’s political involvement and decision-making will also form a key part of the role.

Another crucial aspect of the internship involves supporting TIMRAN’s advocacy efforts. Interns will contribute to social media campaigns and create content to highlight the organization’s vision. What TIMRAN Looks For

Applicants must possess a degree in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Gender Studies, or similar fields. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are essential for success in this role. Fluency in both Amharic and English is required, while knowledge of other Ethiopian languages is considered an advantage.

The ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting. While prior experience in similar roles or internships is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as basic social media management, will also be beneficial.
