Mercy Corps is currently hiring for four key positions to enhance its program delivery and administrative functions. These roles are critical in ensuring smooth operations, promoting gender equality, strengthening financial management, and enhancing monitoring and evaluation practices. Below are the details for the available positions.
Finance Assistant (Maternity Cover) – Gambella
The Finance Assistant in Gambella will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of Mercy Corps’ programs in the region. This includes processing payments, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor regulations. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills, capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants should have a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, along with at least three years of progressive experience in financial management within nonprofit organizations, particularly in INGOs. Familiarity with USAID/BHA and EHF grants is essential, and advanced skills in MS Excel are highly desirable.
Finance Assistant – Jijiga
In Jijiga, the Finance Assistant will perform similar responsibilities, ensuring accurate financial transactions and documentation. The role emphasizes collaboration with program teams to support the delivery of impactful projects while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Candidates must hold a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, with at least three years of experience in financial operations within nonprofit organizations. Familiarity with USAID/BHA and EHF grants is required, along with strong MS Office skills.
Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer (Maternity Cover) – Dollo Ado
The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer will champion initiatives that promote equitable access to resources and opportunities for all community members. This role involves designing and implementing gender-sensitive programs and working closely with local stakeholders to address barriers faced by marginalized groups.
Candidates should have a BA in Sociology, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related social science field, with at least three years of experience in gender and social inclusion roles. Prior experience in protection and GBV programs, particularly in pastoralist communities, is an asset.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist – Jijiga
The MEL Specialist will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of Mercy Corps’ monitoring and learning activities. This includes data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making and enhance program outcomes.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Statistics, or a related field, with at least four years of experience leading MEL activities in development or humanitarian settings. Knowledge of mobile-based technologies for data collection and familiarity with platforms like CommCare is highly advantageous.
