Role and Responsibilities
The Commissioner for Personnel Administration will play a crucial role in managing the company’s personnel operations. This includes handling daily administrative tasks, supervising staff activities, and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and employment policies. Working closely with the duty manager, the commissioner will coordinate recruitment, oversee salary negotiations, and manage employee onboarding and exit procedures.
In addition, the role involves maintaining employee records, supervising attendance statistics, and ensuring timely preparation of employee incentives and disciplinary actions. The commissioner will also act as a liaison with government personnel departments, ensuring all formalities and processes are executed seamlessly.
A significant aspect of this position includes supervising office facilities and recommending maintenance to ensure smooth operations. The commissioner will also manage office supplies, conduct regular inventories of fixed assets, and provide insightful data and advice to support managerial decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, with allowances for experienced professionals. Proficiency in English at a business communication level is mandatory, while knowledge of Chinese is considered a valuable asset.
