Manufacturing Development Specialist

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join its team as a Manufacturing Development Specialist. This position is based in Addis Ababa and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the company’s world-class manufacturing processes.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the implementation and evaluation of the company’s World-Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and coordinating WCM master plans, ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards, and driving improvements in operational efficiency. The specialist will also conduct regular plant audits, analyze loss data, and mentor operational teams to align with the principles of the Coca-Cola Manufacturing Way.

To qualify for this role, applicants must hold a first degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Additional experience in process improvement projects or technical training will be an advantage. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Development Specialist will be responsible for designing and executing effective manufacturing plans aligned with Coca-Cola’s WCM strategies. This includes identifying areas for improvement, evaluating loss data, and ensuring resources are appropriately allocated to meet plant objectives.

The role also involves coaching and mentoring operational teams, facilitating capability development programs, and assessing adherence to best practices. By ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards and auditing processes, the specialist will help enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
