Program Liaison Officer – Bahir Dar
Medical Teams International is seeking a highly skilled Program Liaison Officer to represent its mission in Bahir Dar. The role is central to building strong relationships with regional health authorities, donors, and partners. This position will report to the Gondar Coordination Office, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across various platforms.
As a Program Liaison Officer, your responsibilities will include representing Medical Teams International at regional meetings, such as health and nutrition clusters, technical working groups, and humanitarian coordination forums. You will also facilitate Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between Medical Teams International and government bodies, such as the Regional Health Bureau (RHB) and other key stakeholders. In addition, you will act as the primary security focal point for the Bahir Dar region, ensuring the safety and continuity of the organization’s activities.
To qualify, applicants must hold a degree in nursing, midwifery, or as a Health Officer. A Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in health programs, with two years specifically focused on liaison activities. Fluency in Amharic and English is essential, alongside excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills. Candidates with prior experience in international NGOs will be given preference.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer – Jigjiga
Medical Teams International also invites applications for the role of MEAL Officer to join its team in Jigjiga. This position is critical to ensuring that all programs are monitored effectively, data is analyzed accurately, and lessons learned are integrated into future initiatives. The MEAL Officer will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and accountability of the organization’s humanitarian and development programs.
As a MEAL Officer, you will develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks tailored to specific projects, ensuring that data collection methodologies align with organizational and donor standards. You will also provide ongoing training to field staff, enhancing their ability to collect, manage, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data. Additionally, the MEAL Officer will oversee the development of electronic data systems, with a focus on tools like Kobo for efficient data collection and reporting.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Demography, or a related field. At least three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly within humanitarian or development settings, is required. Proficiency in HMIS data management, statistical software, and IT systems is essential. The ideal candidate should also have strong report-writing skills, knowledge of CHS and SPHERE standards, and a proven ability to work in multicultural environments.
