The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking an Intern, Communications and Social Media (Children and Young People) to support the Act4Food team with communications specifically focusing on social media channels and the Act4Food website. This position will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia office and is offered on a 6 months fixed-term contract basis.
Position: Intern, Communications and Social Media (Children and Young People)
Qualification:
Being enrolled in or have recently completed a university degree in in Communications, Marketing Management, Journalism and International Development or related fields. You will be computer literate with excellent Excel, MS word, Outlook, and Power Point skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing creative content and ability to manage a website in WordPress. You will possess excellent ability to use and critically review the performance of social media tools (e.g. LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook) and have ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and appealing way.
The postholder will possess excellent communications skills, fluent in written and spoken English and must have knowledge in Amharic. You will be a strong team player and able to work collaboratively with a team and within a fast-paced, multicultural organisation.
Key Responsibilities include
Supporting the Act4Food campaign coordinator to regularly update social media content and the website
Collaborating with the Communications team to disseminate content (media stories, reports lessons learned, case studies) for Act4Food programme
Updating and following a social media plan for all social media channels
Coordinating with youth leaders to ensure they are represented on social media channels and website and their stories are showcased appropriately
Supporting administrative tasks and maintenance of the website on behalf of the programme
About our Offer
The salary on offer for this role is USD 250 per month (gross salary) on a 40 working hours per week and full-time working basis.
