Position: Geospatial Information Management
Qualifications/special skills:
To qualify for this internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met: (a) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level in Geography, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, Urban Planning or equivalent); or (b) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one-year period of graduation. Technical Skills Basic Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) and understanding of geospatial data (e.g., shapefiles, geodatabase, GeoJSON, satellite imagery, etc) and Web Mapping Application will be an added advantage Due to the high volume of applications received, ONLY successful candidates will be contacted. Applicants are not required to have professional work experience to participation in the programme.
Languages:
English and French are the working Languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of the other is an advantage.
