UNDP operates in around 170 countries and territories. It helps these countries eliminate poverty, reduce inequality, and meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNDP supports partner nations by helping them create policies, build leadership skills, strengthen partnerships, develop institutions, and improve resilience to keep development progress lasting.
Since 1981, UNDP has been active in Ethiopia. The focus has been on offering strategic help to grow national capacity. This support aims to improve results in poverty reduction, economic growth, democratic governance, and climate-resilient development.
Position: Internship – Inclusive Growth Associates
Education:
Candidates must be enrolled in a master’s or higher degree program or have recently completed a bachelor’s or equivalent in economics, public policy, development studies, or related social sciences. If chosen, the internship must start within one year of graduation.
Experience:
No work experience is required but having some relevant experience, especially in international development, is a plus.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office is necessary.
Knowledge:
Experience or research in issues related to the SDGs, integrated development approaches, and familiarity with the UN system are helpful.
Skills:
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail are important. Good interpersonal skills working with diverse teams are needed. Basic graphic design, visual arts, or communication skills also add value.
Language:
Fluent in English.
French language skills are a big advantage.
